Council Election; Yayi, Eyes-Open Plans To Arrest Ejigbadero, Oluomo

Aregbesola, Yayi, Others Plot To Intimidate, Arrest Ejigbadero, Oluomo, Others

As the atmosphere continues to heat up following the just concluded APC Primary Election across Lagos, leaders in Alimosho attempt to use men of the Police Force and hired thugs to intimidate their perceived political rivals. The concerned leaders are the former Governor of Osun, who is also the current Minister for Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Senator Solomon Adeola Olamilekan popularly called Yayi, Hon. Olufemi Adebanjo, Alhaji Abdullahi Enilolobo, and others, while the primary target rivals are Alhaji Abiodun Ejigbadero and Prince Idris Balogun aka Oluomo Kafata.

In the early hours of Monday, the 7th of June, 2021, some men of the Police Force numbering over 15, fully armed arrived at the office of Ejigbadero while another group stormed the office of Oluomo.

The men did not present any letter inviting both or either men, rather they resorted to harassment and verbal intimidation of staff met at both offices. It was also observed that the police personnel deployed for the intimidation and arrest were operatives of the defunct SARS (now SWAT). SARS is infamous for its brutal and ruthless maltreatment of the innocent.

This development is not unconnected to the ongoing political drama around the Alimosho Federal Constituency where both men alongside other party loyalists have challenged the validity and legality of Enilolobo's claim as the constituency's apex leader. It would be recalled that on the 27th of March, 2021, a young man by the name of Rotimi Adegoke was shot to death during a constituency meeting held in Akinogun Primary School. To date, justice has not been issued on the inhumane murder as Yayi and his colleagues have continued to use millions of naira to subdue judgment and to prevent justice on the gruesome killing of Rotimi.

We  hereby call on the good people of Nigeria, the Inspector General of Police, and all other concerned citizens to intervene in this matter to curb the ongoing menace and intimidation being meted out to these party faithful
