Jelili and His Failed Occultic Effort To Retain Power

Jelili's Second Term Desperation; a Curse Sacrifice

The only thing that will not be known to anyone, is that which is not done by anyone. This is a perfect adage for the sacrilege performed by the sitting Mayor of Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Sulaiman Jelili. It was reliably gathered that Jelili assembled some elderly party faithful for a meeting. But instead of holding a meeting with them as they were told, he demanded the elderly fellows, some of whom are old enough to be his grandparents, to stand on their feet and pledge allegiance to him. Jelili tried to place his guests on oath that they would all work and vote for him in the July local government election.

Jelili's desperation to return for a second term has made him equate his power as the Council Chairman as the owner of Alimosho. The fear of losing the coming election is, no doubt, the greatest horror confronting the Council Chairman. Alongside his political god and master, Abdullahi Enilolobo who has also been running from pillars to post to remain relevant, Jelili has been spending and doing everything within his powers to woo the same electorate he never regarded or remembered throughout his past three and half years as Council Chairman. He forgot that the same people that voted to make him a mayor would still be needed for his return to the office.

At last, the time is here and the mayor is back to the streets, seeking reelection from his abandoned constituents. Jelili operated like he would be there for life but here he is today, begging for a second chance. Little wonder why the elders say, anything that goes up must come down.

It would be recalled that, before emerging as the Council Chairman, Jelili is the immediate past Leader of the House in Alimosho Local Government Council, after which he served as the Executive Secretary in the same Council he is managing today. History also revealed that during his administration as the ES, he did not only underperform but was also unapproachable. Could this be history repeating itself? Unfortunately, Jelili is running an already lost race, as all the goodwill he enjoyed for the last election, have repositioned and left him, courtesy his poor administration and ill-treatment of party men and women.

To emerge as the current Council Mayor, Jelili rode on the goodwill of so many people, including the current Vice-Chairman, Hon. Francis Adebisi, who pledged that with him as an Assistant, all past wrongs would be rewritten for good. Unfortunately, even with Adebisi, nothing has changed. Is this also a confirmation that the leopard can never change its skin?

Now that Hon. Sulaiman Jelili is seeking reelection into the Council, what new stories and promises does he want to tell the people? Will his third time in the same office make any difference after two failed opportunities to serve the good people of Alimosho?
