Alimosho Council Primaries: Yayi, Enilolobo, Others Blame Tunde Balogun Over Unfavourable Outcome

Alimosho Politics: Tinubu and the Intelligent Marriage of Warring Groups

For well over half a year, and by extension, years, the Alimosho political class has been subjected to dominance by a class and ridicule for other groups. This trend got overstretched with the relegation of some powerful and credible political elites in the Constituency.

The electorate of Alimosho Federal Constituency has suffered unimaginable disdain by the unpopular faction led by one Alhaji Abdullahi Enilolobo.

Enilolobo was imposed on the people of Alimosho by his boss and political godfather, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola but unfortunately, instead of treading softly, Enilolobo chose to be arrogant, domineering, and greedy in his leadership system. This gave room to agitations and lamentations from the subdued group. Also, instead of addressing the issues on the ground by integrating the aggrieved factions into the system, Enilolobo continued to deceive leaders from outside the Constituency that all was well inside Alimosho, maligning every aggrieved member and caucus.

With the breakout of Alhaji Abiodun Ejigbadero,

Prince Idris Balogun, and Hon. Akinyemi Ajigbotafe from the Enilolobo-led faction, all secrets that have been concealed by Enilolobo and his group have continued to be stories making headlines around and beyond Alimosho. Besides exposing the very many atrocities of the Enilolobo-led faction, the agitation has greatly weakened the morales of the imposing actors. Over time, the agitators grew in numbers with the assimilation of both the BAT Movement and the Alimosho Veterans, popularly known as I-No-Go-Gree. This marriage, no doubt, strengthened the agitators and their cause while it continued to expose the weaknesses and lies of Enilolobo.

Famous among the prominent lies exposed by the Liberation fighters were the following:

i. Enilolobo has, for some time, paraded himself as the Mandate Chairman. This false claim was punctured with the disclosure that Asiwaju has eliminated the Mandate Group and all other related caucuses.

ii. Enilolobo also blindfolded the people of Alimosho, preventing them from knowing that Aregbesola was no longer a member of the GAC, making it seem like he was still in charge of Alimosho political matters. Before this agitation, Enilolobo had always bamboozled the people with lies that he always took permission on every issue from Aregbesola.

iii. Enilolobo had always fooled his followers that he was powerful enough to command political appointments, contracts, and projects into Alimosho. He boasted that Lagos Governors, commissioners, and other top political bigwigs in Lagos were all his fingertip and would respond immediately he instructed them.

iv. Another lie from the pits of hell was that Aregbesola was fully in control of the entire Lagos West.

v. Enilolobo deceived the entire electorate that he was the constitutionally recognized Apex Leader of Alimosho Federal Constituency - this was also exposed as no law or evidence is proving the constitutionality or legality of such post under the party constitution or elsewhere.

vi. Enilolobo misled the people into believing that the LSHA Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa

was responsible for the death of Senator Sikiru Bayo Osinowo aka Pepperito - a man who was confirmed to have died of coronavirus. It took so much stress and effort to correct this misconception and misinformation.

vii. The most laughable among their lies is the open denial that a former Deputy and current Senior Special Adviser to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), H. E Adejoke Orelope Adefulire is a leader in Alimosho.

She was painted black and had her image completely bastardized among her people. Contrary to their claims and propaganda, Adejoke, being the highest political office holder in Alimosho, is the most befitting of the title of Alimosho apex leader, if at all, there is anything like that. However, Enilolobo ridiculed her in several ways and almost rendered her non-existent through his dominance and imposition.

Asiwaju's Intervention and the Blackmail Against Balogun
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu

Having been fully convinced of an evident political crisis and disintegration of the APC in Alimosho, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu intervened in the fracas to reconcile the warring factions. In his wisdom, Asiwaju ordered that the sitting council Chairmen be returned and he apportioned other posts like the Vice Chairman, Secretary to the Local Government, and some Councillorship seats to the aggrieved parties.

While this move was largely commended by the other factions, the Enilolobo-led occultic group has been bent on holding on to all political offices in Alimosho, thereby proceed in their autocratic system of leadership and governance to enhance their looting of our collective wealth and resources. Asiwaju's arrangement has disorganized the camp and got Enilolobo, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Yayi, Hon. Olufemi Adebanjo and others running from post to poll. They have not relented as they have continued to bribe their way in their bid to upturn Asiwaju's arrangement. Just as they have been bribing all officials, they have also resorted to seducing aspirants on the side of the Liberators to jettison their ambitions and join forces with them.

Having woefully failed in achieving their optimum goal of retaining power across Alimosho, the Enilolobo-led faction has resorted to blackmail against the APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and now the State Caretaker Chairman, Hon. Tunde Balogun. In one of their recent articles, they have resorted to name-calling, describing Balogun as a thief, asserting that the Chairman had received a sum of twenty-five million nairas (₦25,000,000.00) from Oseni Ahmed Olajide, an aspirant vying for the post of council Chairman under Igando-Ikotun LCDA.

Hon, Tunde Balogun

This is not only laughable but also a confirmation that the Enilolobo-led faction is gradually conceding defeat, though it remains a dilemma why they would not do so without denting the image of others. Hon. Tunde Balogun is a true leader and a disciplinarian who would never place affluence before his integrity. Having failed in their several attempts to buy Balogun over to act their script, they are devising alternatives that will portray Balogun as the black sheep. It is no longer news how Yayi and his cohorts have been enticing officials from all corners to pave way for their hideous acts.

Conclusively, we want to remind Enilolobo and his gullible followers that we did told tell them at the beginning of this struggle that Alimosho must be liberated and we also told them that business would no longer be as usual and that an end had come to imposition in Alimosho. We believe that they are beginning to see that what they tagged as the mere threat was fast coming to fruition. When we began, they labeled us with a series of names, from saying we were not party members to describing us as thugs, land grabbers, and other forms of unprintable names. To them, anyone doing anything contrary to their position is evil. Should anyone then be surprised that they are now attacking and maligning the state party Chairman?

Welcome to a new Alimosho
