House Leader Set to Pass Budget

Banks Reject Jelili's Cheques

Typically, the local government annual budget should be passed one or two months before the fiscal year begins but even as at May 2021, the year's budget is yet to be passed. The embattled Council Chairman, Hon. Sulaiman Jelili had not passed the 2021 budget before his suspension.

To fraudulently cover-up for Jelili's gross misconduct, nonchalance, and incompetence, a scheme is underway that the Alimosho House Leader, Hon. Ahmed Obadina, along with other councilors and the Clerk of the House is set to pass the budget today, Saturday, May 8, 2021.

It would be recalled that an earlier article reported how Jelili passed the 2020 budget in July - 7 months into the new year. To deceive the world, he instructed everyone present at the event to remove their nose masks to create a false sense that it had been passed before the coronavirus pandemic, which hit the nation in February 2020.

The same plot is set to be perpetrated today again. We hereby call on the Lagos State Government, the State Assembly, and all other concerned bodies and individuals to step in.

It was also gathered that two hours after the announcement of the suspension, Jelili signed some cheques for cashing but thankfully, they were rejected, as information of his suspension had earlier gotten to all financial institutions managing the Council funds.

Also, till the time of filing this report, the Alimosho vice-chairman, Hon. Francis Adebisi

had still not been sworn in to take over, following Jelili's indefinite suspension. It was reliably gathered that the self-acclaimed Apex Leader, Alhaji Abdullahi Enilolobo had earlier warned the Councillors not to swear the Vice-Chairman in, against the instruction of the State Assembly and the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Enilolobo has threatened to head to court over the suspension.

Enilolobo's show of strength against the State Assembly leaves observers wondering about the position and constitutionality of the leader in the state. Oftentimes, Enilolobo had overrated his position and personality in the state. Before the dissolution of all state party structures, Enilolobo was the Lagos APC Organising Secretary and was afterward, sworn in as the caretaker organizing secretary. However, his recent actions and utterances are a clue to how Enilolobo has magnified his position as the state Caretaker Organising Secretary. He tends to perceive himself to be at par with the national leader and could control everyone in the state.

We are appealing to Governor Babajide Sanwoolu and all other relevant authorities to intervene in the current quagmire facing Alimosho owing to Enilolobo's overbearing arrogance in how Alimosho Local Government and its 5 surrounding LCDAs are being run.
