Agbado Oke-Odo: Yisa Yusuf Disqualifies Aspirants After Purchase of Forms

Alimosho Under Fire Under Yisa Yusuf, Enilolobo

The political situation in Alimosho has gone berserk. It has become so bad that if this should continue, democracy in Alimosho will soon be replaced with autocracy. Unfortunately again, it is going to be an autocracy dictated by raw stack illiterates who have no fear of God or love for humanity.

The deputy Apex leader in Alimosho is no other person than a stack illiterate plank seller, a greedy and selfish political leader, by the name Yisa Yusuf, popularly called YY.

He is in charge of all the internally generated revenue from markets, okada and marwa in Mosan-Okunola LCDA. Having successfully cowed all the political leaders in that LCDA to return the Council Chairperson, Hon. Adebisi Adebajo and all the councillors against the wish of majority of the politicians and community leaders, he decided to extend his callousness to Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA to replicate the madness.

YY succeeded in manipulating the various Ward leaders in Agbado Oke-Odo forcing them to conduct a shadow election among all aspirants including the serving councillors. The outcome of the election did not favour any of the five serving councilors. They failed woefully in their Wards, except for Ward F, where the council Chairman, Engr. Famuyiwa who insisted that he must singlehandedly install the councillor for his Ward. This move was, however, resisted by the stakeholders in the Ward and the youth who went on rampage destroying the banners of aspirants in that ward.

The most unfortunate part of it was that these nuisance, parading themselves as Alimosho Apex leader and deputy, stormed Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA on Saturday 8th of May, summoned all the leadership of the party in Agbado Oke-Odo, including Hon. Yemi Adedeji, a former member of the House of Representatives and a political leader to the acclaimed Apex Leaders during the SDP era, and mandated them to go and reverse the popular democratic decisions they had earlier taken and return all the former councillors automatically.

Going by the caliber of people that make up the leadership in Agbado Oke-Odo which included Hon. Adedeji, a chattered accountant cum Lawyer, Hon. Shola Akande, and Hon. Uzamat Akinbile, a serving commissioner in the state among others, one would expect that common sense will prevail, but just like elders would always say ‘common sense is not always common’. This crop of people called a meeting of the various leaders in each Ward on the following day, 9th of May instructing them that the Alimosho leadership had instructed them to return all the serving councillors against the wish of all party men which had been displayed in the various Ward shadow elections held across all the wards. We begin to wonder whose interest this so called 'muguns' dubbed leaders are actually representing.

Funnily enough, at the said meeting were two other Chairmanship aspirants where the incumbent Chairman, who is also an aspirant, stood up and began to spit trash, telling the leaders that he had already secured the ticket for his second term and that (metala) 'thirteen' of the Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly cannot stop him. He therefore threatened those aspirants that were duly picked via the kangaroo elections from their Wards to, honourably step down for the defeated first timers. He promised to buy vehicles for them all and place them on monthly stipends.

What exactly have these people turned council administration in Alimosho to? The half baked educated welder turned Engineer, David Famuyiwa is further mortgaging the council just to pave way for his second coming and the nonentities called stakeholders are just watching and grumbling underneath. Their conscience have been bought and they had sold away the people they claim to represent. The leadership of Agbado Oke-Odo lost their bite ever since the Enilolobo-led G 18 had successfully removed Hon. Lateef Ibirogba from the leadership structure.

This is just to expose the shenanigans going on in Alimosho which the Alimosho Veterans and Alimosho Libration Movement have been contending with and which they are set to challenge through the primaries to be conducted by the Hamzat-led committee on 29th of May, 2021.

The battle of slavaging Alimosho is a collective task. We cannot fold our arms and act like all is well when nothing is actually good
