Yayi Invites Egbado Obas As He Moves Motion In The Senate

Yayi's Second Term Representation: To Which Interest - Lagos West Or Ogun West?

The only reason for voting a representative to any political assembly is to represent and protect  the interest of the constituents that deemed him fit for their representation. QED. 

The proponents of democratic governance, in their rich wisdom, were convinced beyond reasonable doubt that every constitutionally demarcated constituency must have its peculiar problems and so, each must be represented by a knowledgeable person, whose sole aim will be to consistently argue and lobby to draw attention to the plights of his constituency. It is possible for such representative to support some other representatives in their quest just to curry their support for him on the needs of his constituency. I think this is the highest kind of price one can pay to have his way on his people's demand.

However, how can one define or justify a situation where a representative from a densely populated area with great challenges forsake those that gave him their mandate to represent them and begin to usurp the assignment and responsibilities of another representative who equally has his mandate from his people? It could have been more dignifying if he had conceived the idea and now given it to the original representative to present on the floor of the Assembly! Yayi will not settle for that because that 'smart' short devil, has his game!

Yayi has his eyes on the Ogun West Senatorial seat very desperately because of his ambition to govern Ogun State in 2027 and so, he must rubbish whoever is occupying the seat in front of those traditional rulers so that they, the Obas could go home and let their subjects know how useless their present senator is and why they must all bring in Yayi as their Senator in 2023. A smart move! Now, what becomes of Lagos West? Nothing, but a total loss!

Presently, Yayi is one of the highly influential Senators in the National Assembly due to his closeness to the Senate President, but how has that benefitted the people of Alimosho, in particular or to Lagos West, in general? I do not think Yayi has ever deemed it fit to invite any section of the Obas within his Senatorial district to witness any motion that may bring development to their domain let alone buying vehicles for them as he did the Obas of Yewaland. Simply put, the continuous representation of Lagos west by Yayi is an aberration and it will be disgusting for any sane person to continue toiling with an idea of Yayi's return for a third term.

Honestly speaking, Yayi used to be a representative that his constituents were proud of, especially when he was in the State Assembly and even at the House of Representatives. Truth be told, his impact was well felt and the reason is simple - his heart, mind, body and soul were fully with the people he represented but today, the reverse is the case. We are only seeing his body, but his soul, heart and mind are now fully with his people in Yewa, Ogun State, whom he plans to govern by the year 2027.

Are the people, in Lagos West, supposed to fold their arms and allow this political gambler to continue to play on their intelligence and allow him to use their mandate again against them in 2023? With Yayi as a senator representing Lagos West, it is as good as saying the constituency does not have Senatorial representation in the Nigerian upper chamber. Alimosho Federal Constituency is the greatest loser as the nonentity representing her at the lower chamber is a bench warmer representative, 'Siddon look', in the chamber. The only benefactors of this aberration are Abdullahi Oluwole Enilolobo and his fellow G goats in Alimosho who have turned the people's collective fortune in Alimosho into theirs.

The people must all rise to change their narratives!
