APC Membership Registration-Revalidation Exercise: Alimosho Celebrates Deceit

Alimosho Ranked The LG with Highest Registration

A local adage says, if lie goes for 20 years, it would take truth, just a day to catch up with it. This is a perfect analogy of the case of Alimosho leaders and the ongoing party membership registration and revalidation exercise. Alimosho leaders built the entire process on deceit and treachery, and it is an obvious reflection of their past techniques. This largely explains why the national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in a viral video, described the Alimosho leadership as woeful failures.

The ongoing membership registration exercise in Alimosho has been marred with insincerity and fraud, as leaders did not consider it necessary to mobilise for the exercise, but rather encouraged their delegates to fill in names of non-existent persons. While some persons in Alimosho, including Princess Adejoke Orelope, Alhaji Abiodun Ejigbadero, Prince Idris Balogun and others purchased devices like cameras, printers and others to ease the registration exercise for party members, Enilolobo and his group prevented party faithful from registering and instead, filled non-existent information in the forms. This fraudulent act resulted in party members being denied registration at several centers across Alimosho. Below were some of the illegalities observed at the various registration centers:

i. There were reported cases of members visiting registration, only to be told that registration materials had been exhausted.

ii. At other places, supposed registration officials were seen filling in manipulated names and data without party members being present for the exercise, since many of them had been told to go back for lack of registration materials.

iii. Also, at places where party members were registered, their membership cards were withheld and registrants asked to go home, leaving their membership cards behind. This is, no doubt, another scheme devised towards plunging the party into another massive failure.
On the recent announcement that Alimosho recorded number of registration, it sounded like some good news, but, however, the logic behind these acts are all geared towards selling the party victory to the opposition. Otherwise, what better explanation can be accorded to preventing party members from registering and withholding their membership cards other than a scheme to reduce the party votes during elections?

It would be recalled that precious reports have revealed how the party votes have declined from over 200,000 in 2003 to about 60,000 in 2019, even when it is obvious that the country's population is rising. To prevent another disaster from befalling the party at elections, we strongly advise that the party leadership at the state level, looks into the scam taking place in the ongoing membership registration in Alimosho. Thankfully, the national leadership has extended the registration by another three weeks. This is enough time to bring in new, genuine members into the fold of the party.
As party faithful, whose desire is to see a working system in Alimosho APC, we urge all concerned offices and individuals to rise up to this menace to help restore the party to its rightful place and bring back its past glory.
