Stop Destroying Party To Sell Yourself, Group Tells Enilolobo

A Swahili proverb says "It is amazing how much people get done if they do not worry about who gets the credit.". The simple saying speaks volume on the need to think more on the collective goal than personal gains and credits.

It has become the custom of the Alimosho self-appointed and self-acclaimed apex leader, Alhaji Abdullahi Enilolobo to promote himself beyond the party he claims to represent. This selfish practice can be likened to a shopkeeper who glorifies himself to his customers instead of promoting his shop wares and products.

It is still strange why Enilolobo, periodically compels his followers to pledge support and loyalty to him instead of the party that unites them. We have oftentimes repeated that the political leaders representing the people of Alimosho are neither concerned about the party nor its members but themselves. It has almost become a monthly ritual in Alimosho that party members must gather and pledge their support for Alhaji Enilolobo. They do this in various forms - they are either staging a walk for him or making videos reaffirming their loyalty to him. This unnecessary time wasting funfair does not end in having party members dance around town and sing a special song for Enilolobo. It involves high donations from the various elective office holders across Alimosho LG and the 5 LCDAs, where each Council Chairman coughs out millions of naira from their respective council purses. This is nothing but sheer waste of our common patrimony, time and efforts.

It is no longer news that our great party, the APC is undergoing some internal turbulence and series of attacks from the opposition. This is no time for any right thinking individual, let alone a party leader to dissociate himself from the party in a bid to save his face. We remember, vividly how Enilolobo and his cohorts benefited from the party when the going was good. And despite the turbulence and challenges the party is going through, they still engage in looting and sharing funds that are meant for developing the community.

On January 25, 2021, the party membership registration will commence. In other climes, responsible leaders have taken it upon themselves to mobilise and sensitise residents ahead of the registration exercise. It is worrisome how instead of working with other leaders to reposition the party and also increase its membership, Enilolobo is interested in self-gratification and glorification. Why is Enilolobo promoting himself at the expense of the party? Is he the party? Perhaps, Alhaji Enilolobo is working on building a structure within the APC, which he will eventually migrate with to another party. This act of Enilolobo promoting himself is a selfish act capable of weakening the party structures in Alimosho. The exercise is alien to the party, as even the party national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has never known to gather party members for such unnecessary funfair.

We hereby advise Alhaji Abdullahi Enilolobo to desist from his time wasting and lavish spending exercise tagged "Walk With Enilolobo" as there are more productive exercises to engage in. We also wish to advise him to encourage the council Chairmen to spend the remaining time they have in office to inscribe their names on rocks through the accomplishment of laudable projects across Alimosho, instead of him collecting these funds for selfish purpose.

Finally, we use this medium to advise party members to come out in troops for the membership registration exercise slated to begin on 25th of this month.
